Abstract

The ups and downs in the work of spiritual conquest denote the plurality of the societies that were the object of this action and the studies have contributed information and perspectives of analysis, enriching the dimension of the process of Christianization of the New World. The collective work coordinated by José Manuel Chávez Gómez is welcomed, which gathers seven works with their common denominators and divergent vectors, and which constitutes a framework that contributes to the knowledge of the history of that distant New-Hispanic South.
