Abstract

In 1902, a massacre againts several Yaqui families occured while they were running away from the haciendas where they worked. These families were victims of an ambush by the Mexican Army at Uvalama’s Ravine, located at Sierra de Mazatán. A few days after, anthropologist Aleš Hrdli?ka had access to the battle site, and got the authorization to collect artifacts that were left in the field.
