Abstract
This article is about the importance of the collection ofpatents, trademarks and artistic and literary property in the Archivo General de la Nación as a basic source for history ofphotography research in México. We can find here, among other documents, the patents of the inventors and fine tunners of the photographic method, and the images ofMexican and foreign photographers that registered theiriuorks as a way of legal protection.
