Abstract

Sex work is a complex phenomenon, it crosses gender studies, precarious work, public health policies, child exploitation and trafficking of persons for sex work, among others. There are various explanations that dominate the scenario, including anthropology enriched by disciplines like sociology and psychology. Objective: To analyze the men sex work advertising in Toluca. Methodology: On-line exploratory ethnography on men sex work advertising for three months. The categories used by the subjects are: name, slogan, explicit vocabulary, age, origin, height, skin color, constitution, body and face hair, penis lenght, manners, offered services, performance, requirements, schedules, rates, contact information, picture, amount of pictures, picture sets, condom use. Findings: The marketing emphasizes genitalia. The intensity is directed to all audiences from a respectful language to explicit sex language. The phenomenon is hidden in words, however, as a whole, it remains a mystery where the price and benign pleasure promise are baits to catch distinguished and wealthy customers.
